Preliminary studies for the Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics Pillar
Following the decisions of Extreme Light Infrastructure - Preparatory Phase FP7 project, Romania will build the Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics Pillar starting with 2011. In order to secure the funding for this European Facility, feasability studies will be completed in 2010, with the support of all the Extreme Light Infrastructure partners.
First draft of the building and laser system is prepared. The facility main building will have four floors: the ground floor contains the laser amplification chain, the first floor contains the pump lasers and technical rooms, the two underground levels host the experimental areas.
